Insurance and business rules - put the business in charge

Interesting article on the use of business rules in Insurance - For the Business, By the Business. Insurance is a classic example of an industry that is regulated (so compliance is an issue) and where the rules that software must enforce are complex in a business sense so that the pay off for having the business maintain the rules itself, given the right technology, is high.

There's a bunch of articles on Insurance on the blog here and this case study, by Auto club Group, is particularly relevant.
